YORK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

An attractive programme arranged for the twentieth concert, which will be given in the large hall of the Exhibition on Thursday, April 14th. Mr. T. Tertius Noble will again wield the baton, and the soloists will be Miss Ethel Page at the piano; Miss Knocker and Miss Leila Willoughby, violins; and Mr. John Groves, 'cello. It is Miss Page's first appearance in York, and she will no doubt maintain the reputation she has gained in Newcastle and the North of England, where her playing is very highly esteemed.

The principal items are Haydn's Symphony in D; Beethoven's overture "Egmont"; valse triste by Sibelius; a violin solo by Sarasate to be played by Miss Willoughby.

Miss Ethel Page will play Chopin's Scherzo Op. 3I, in addition to taking part in one of Bach's pianoforte concertos, and in Handel's concerto for strings and piano. The latter is a most beautiful work, and will unquestionably meet with much appreciation.
