Letter from Edmund Smith to the Yorkshire Herald/Gazette, September 1919

YORK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA.

To the EDITOR of the YORKSHIRE HERALD/YORKSHIRE GAZETTE.

Sir,—It will interest many of your readers to learn that the prospects of the resuscitation of the York Symphony Orchestra are very hopeful. Owing to the fact that several prominent members are away from the city on holiday, the general meeting of the members (which will decide the future of the orchestra) cannot take place until some time during the month of October. In the meantime I shall be glad to hear from any possible new members.—Yours faithfully,

EDMUND M. SMITH,
Acting Hon. Secretary.
